66°North
66°North is and Icelandic company that designs, manufactures and sells outdoor clothing. The company was originally called Sjóklæðagerðin (The Sea Clothing Factory), but the name 66°North comes from the fact that Súgandafjörður is near the latitude of 66 degrees north, which was considered fitting.
Hans Kristjánsson, a fisherman from Suðureyri, began producing seafaring clothing after learning the craft in Norway. He founded Sjóklæðagerð Íslands (The Sea Clothing Factory of Iceland) to improve the clothing for sailors and enhance their safety.
Today, clothing from 66°North has become popular as everyday wear in Iceland, and most of the production takes place in the company’s factories in Latvia.

66°North is located at Bryggjugata 7, Hafnartorg.
